Letters of Venancy

A Letter of Venancy: historically an application to be allowed in the tourney but functionally a letter stating that you intend to participate

Each entrant into the Lysts will be required to submit a Letter of Venancy. This letter should include a blazon of arms, rank, title and accomplishments of the entrant. Those letters submitted for judging will be so judged based upon presentation, artistic style and of course, period accuracy.

Prizes will be given to the entrant whose letter best pleases the Baron and Baroness of Bjornsborg.

Heraldry at Lysts at Castleton is as important as prowess on the field. Therefore, the entrant whose heraldic display and whose field herald most impresses the Baron and Baroness of Bjornsborg will, at the end of the day, receive special recognition and a prize worthy of such a feat.
